Research Project: “Additive Manufacturing of Injection Molding Tools”
SK Industriemodell startet Forschungsprojekt: „Additive Herstellung von Spritzgusswerkzeugen“ zusammen mit dem PEM der RWTH Aachen
SK Industriemodell and the PEM Institute (Production Engineering of E-Mobility Components) of the RWTH Technical University Aachen have entered into an agreement to jointly work on the research of an additive manufacturing technology for injection molding tools. The goal is to develop the know-how for a routinely usable process, from 3 D printing of the tool to molding parts in the printed tool. The process is to make it possible to offer a “24 h” injection molded part to customers. In the development process, different 3 D printing technologies will be explored for manufacturing tools which then will be tested for molding different plastic materials.
